Sometimes words are not the only way used to communicate by individuals; actions and emotions are also a means used to communicate. But, in a relationship which is unhealthy, it becomes difficult for parties to interpret these emotions. This poem intends to showcase a desperate attempt between a couple in an unhealthy  relationship.

Can’t You Hear Me?

I never expected your love,
I just expect some space,
I don’t raise my voice,
But can’t you hear me?

I never saw your care,
I just thought you would spare,
Then why do you show me your anger,
At least tell me… Do share,

I hide in the dark,
Fear your presence,
Live a prisoners life,
Quietly with no essence,

Your eyes see regret,
My eyes show pain,
You talk through your limbs,
But can’t you here me?

I never spoke,
Words seem useless,
But my silence speaks volumes,
Can’t you hear me?
